فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَSo there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَThen what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away.كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌAs if they were alarmed donkeys.فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍۭFleeing from a lion?بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةًRather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.كَلَّا بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَNo! But they do not fear the Hereafter.كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌNo! Indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a reminder.فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥThen whoever wills will remember it.وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِAnd they will not remember except that Allāh wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.
القيامة
Al-Qiyamah · The Resurrection
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِI swear by the Day of Resurrectionوَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِAnd I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥDoes man think that We will not assemble his bones?بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥYes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥBut man desires to continue in sin.يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِHe asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُSo when vision is dazzled.وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُAnd the moon darkens.وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُAnd the sun and the moon are joined,يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّMan will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَNo! There is no refuge.إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّTo your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَMan will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌRather, man, against himself, will be a witness,وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥEven if he presents his excuses.لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓMove not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān].إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥIndeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥSo when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥThen upon Us is its clarification [to you].
